Terms of service
The short version. Use it for anything lawful. Don't hammer the servers or resell the search results. The software is MIT-licensed and you may fork it. We cannot promise the search results are correct, because we did not write the pages they point to.
1. Who these terms are with
Jasb is operated by its maintainers, reachable at [email protected]. "We", "us" and "Jasb" mean that operator. "You" means whoever uses the service or the software. Using jasb.dev, the hosted API, the browser, or the extension means you accept these terms.
2. What the service is
Jasb takes a natural-language request and returns a list of third-party websites. It is a routing and ranking service. It does not generate answers, host the pages it links to, or act on your behalf on any website.
We are not responsible for what is on the sites we link to. They are written and operated by other people. A result appearing in Jasb is not an endorsement, a warranty of accuracy, or a statement that the site is safe.
3. The software licence
The source code is released under the MIT Licence. You may use, modify, self-host, and redistribute it, including commercially, subject to that licence. These terms govern the hosted service at jasb.dev; they do not restrict your rights under the MIT Licence to the code itself.
The name "Jasb" and the logo are not covered by the MIT Licence. Fork the code freely; please ship it under your own name.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Automate requests against the hosted API beyond your plan's allowance, or work around the quota with generated device tokens.
- Resell, redistribute or republish the search results as your own service. Self-host the software and bring your own provider keys instead — that is expressly allowed.
- Use the service to break the law, infringe someone's rights, or attack another system.
- Attempt to extract API keys, other users' data, or the internals of the hosted deployment.
We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access that breaches this section. Where it is reasonable to do so we will say why first.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
The free tier requires no account and no payment. Paid plans are billed through Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record and reseller. Paddle handles payment, invoicing and applicable sales tax; your contract of sale for the subscription is with Paddle, and their buyer terms apply to it.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Prices may change. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice before a change takes effect on their plan.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
"Unlimited" on the Pro plan means subject to fair use. If one account's usage is a material share of total load we will contact you before doing anything about it.
6. Bring-your-own-key
If you configure your own provider keys, requests go to those providers under their terms, billed to you, and we are not a party to that relationship. You are responsible for keeping those keys secure and for complying with each provider's terms. We do not store them; see the privacy policy for where they do live.
7. Availability
The service is provided as is. We do not offer an uptime guarantee, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the hosted service entirely we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused prepaid time.
The desktop application runs the full engine locally. With your own keys it does not depend on our servers, which is the intended answer to this section.
8. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jasb is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €50 if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date and in the release notes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new version.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
